WAKE UP!
Not so long ago I read a book by author S.J. Watson titled Before I Go to Sleep (go on, click on the link and check out my review of the book on Readers Lane – you can even buy it over there). I liked it pretty well. Lo and behold, someone else liked it pretty well, well enough to shell out the bucks for a big screen version with an amazing cast. As in Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth and Mark Strong amazing. That’s a whole lot of liking. And it looks like a movie worth seeing.
The basic story revolves around a woman who forgets everything each night while she sleeps. And I mean EVERYTHING. She doesn’t know her husband, her home, her past – nothing. Everything she learns about herself and her life during each day she loses again the next night. How utterly depressing, right? And terrifying. Because what you don’t know can indeed hurt you and she doesn’t know anything. It’s pretty easy to keep secrets from a woman who needs to be told each day who she is every morning.
Obviously I love the cast, and from the trailer it looks like director Rowan Joffe has put together a pretty good thriller. The movie opens on October 31st, 2014 – not a bad fit for a Halloween premier. So take a look at the trailer and see what you think – I’m pretty excited about this one.
