Post holiday movie marathon? I think yes!
So we’re finally through the holiday madness – now the kids just need to go back to school for my movie watching to return to its regular schedule. But – this year I have a couple of days off this week! I plan to squeeze a few extra DVDs into that time, let’s see what’s new!
December 27th
Another early bird.
Piranha (horror, Ving Rhames, Richard Dreyfuss) – Purchase release, DVD and Blu-Ray, Netflix released delayed until January 11th

Catfish (documentary) – Purchase release, DVD, Netflix release date unknown
Machete (action, Danny Trejo, Robert DeNiro) – Purchase release, DVD and Blu-Ray, Netflix release unknown
And there you go. Another two weeks with a fairly scant selection of DVDs to choose from while you recover from the holidays. Definitely worth noting, however, is the DVD release of Dr. Zhivago (which will instant stream in Netflix beginning January 1st) and the Blu-Ray release of both Gone With the Wind and The Wizard of Oz (will also instant stream on Netflix beginning January 1st) all on January 4th. This may be the best time of the year to settle in with hot cocoa and an oldie!
