Sunday night’s Super Bowl that saw the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots made history as an average 97.5 million viewers watched the matchup. Even more staggering – 148.3 million people watched the game for all or part of the game.
Plus, it was the second most-watched television broadcast in U.S. history, with MASH’s finale in 1983 only topping it with 106 million. The previous most-watched Super Bowl was the Dallas-Pittsburgh game in 1996 with 94.08 million viewers.
