Sylvester Stallone was formally convicted today in Australian court of importing human growth hormone into the country without a prescription. Four dozen vials of the drug were found in his luggage when he arrived in the country in February.
The star of the Rocky and Rambo series told the court he had taken the hormone for years for an undisclosed condition, and said he was heading to Thailand and Myanmar for a three-month shoot, hence the quantity. Although Stallone did not have a prescription, prosecutors did decide that the actor was planning to use them for legitimate medical reasons. Stallone previously pled guilty of importing the drugs without a permit; today, he was ordered to pay $10,651 in fines and court costs.
