A German film company has filed a $3 million lawsuit against actor John Goodman, claiming that he’s reneged on an agreement to star in an upcoming project.
According to Constantin Film, Goodman agreed verbally to act in Pope Joan, an adaptation of the 1997 novel by Donna Woolfolk Cross. Shooting was scheduled to start in May, but the suit alleges that Goodman’s representatives told the company in March that Goodman was dropping out of the project.
Goodman, said the company, would’ve received $500,000 for appearing in the film; Constantin wants $3 million for damages. Goodman’s publicist said in a statement to a celebrity news site that there had been talks about Goodman appearing in the film, but that no agreement had ever been reached.
