The schedule-makers at ABC must have a new motto: “Change is good.” How else to explain their fall schedule, which has 15 new shows?
Coming in fall 2006:
Comedies: Betty the Ugly, Big Day, Help Me Help You, In Case of Emergency, Let’s Rob…, Notes From the Underbelly
Dramas: Brothers & Sisters, Day Break, Men in Trees, The Nine, Six Degrees, Traveler
Reality series: Greg Behrendt’s Wake-Up Call, Just for Laughs, Set for the Rest of Your Life
Returning: According to Jim, America’s Funniest Home Videos, The Bachelor, Boston Legal, Dancing with the Stars, Desperate Housewives, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, George Lopez, Grey’s Anatomy, Lost, Primetime (timeslot TBD), Supernanny, 20/20, What About Brian, Wife Swap
Not returning: Commander in Chief, Hope & Faith, Jake in Progress, Sons & Daughters
My predictions:
First new show to get cancelled: Men in Trees. Great, just what we need — another show about the woes of dating.
First new show to become a cult favorite: a tie between Day Break and Traveler. Both are interesting concepts, though if forced to choose I’d go for the former, a cross between Groundhog Day and The Fugitive.
New show I’m most looking forward to: a tie between Day Break and Traveler.
