Movie Rewinders - Meet the Writing Team

It takes a special breed of movie lover to rewind movies. These are the people who make our sprockets spin.
Andrew Duxbury
Andrew Duxbury
Andrew is originally from Seattle Washington, land of mist, coffee and flying salmon. After a stint at Stanford University, where he picked up degrees in Chemistry and Biology and minored in Drama, and another stint at the University of Washington School of Medicine, he had to figure out what he wanted to be when he grew up. Serendipity took him to the University of California Davis Medical Center where he accidentally fell into a career in clinical geriatrics. Further unusual life circumstance took him to the University of Alabama Birmingham where he remains as a clinical professor, focused on the health of the elder in the community through case management, house calls and outpatient clinic.

Mrs. Norman Maine sprang to life, full grown like Athena, from his head during a difficult period of life shortly after his relocation to Alabama. She reigned at various websites, dispensing her adventures and views on film from 2000-2005 before retiring to cryogenic slumber, as Andrew’s life circumstances changed and stabilized. Rather than living vicariously, he took up stage performing himself although he will never be the tap demon MNM is. Recently, he discovered that she still has more to say so she has taken up her new home at and will hopefully be discovered by new fans.

Her old columns have all been archived at .

Andrew continues to live in Birmingham with his husband, their four cats, and a highly eclectic group of friends.

Sue Millinocket
Sue is the boss. She tells the other writers what to do and throws her weight as site manager around with impunity. Sadly, the other writers generally ignore her, but that does little to dampen her enthusiasm for the job.

She also watches indie movies, always hoping for a gem amidst the rubble. Sometimes she even finds one. In between movies, she stuffs in as many episodes of (sometimes really bad) TV as possible and reads a lot of (sometimes really bad) books.

Sue’s day job is Editorial Manager at Silver Beacon Marketing, which is how she came to be (self-proclaimed) Queen of Movie Rewind (as well as its sister sites, Readers Lane and Pop Rock Nation). She has a bunch of college degrees that she doesn’t use, a couple of cats that she love/hates, a husband that she just loves and nearly grown children that she over-mothers. She suffers from Sarcastic Personality Disorder. And likes it.
