8 Films to Die For

After Dark Horrorfest Series One

We all know that when Dennis decides to review a series, he’s going to finish the job. In this case, he’s going to finish four jobs, but let’s focus on the first one for now.

In 2006, After Dark Films debuted 8 Films to Die For. It was designed to be an annual horror film festival, showing independent horror movies on the big screen at a selection of theaters around the U.S.

Also called Horrorfest, the first festival took place in November 2006 and was a solid success for After Dark Films. The movies were all released on DVD in March of the following year. Series I has ten movies, including two “bonus” films. You can buy the full set on Amazon (without the bonus movies) or eBay (where they are a LOT cheaper), but you’re better off looking for the individual movies on your streaming services.

After Dark Horrorfest Series Two

The second annual After Dark Horrorfest took place in November 2007. Frontier(s) was converted to a bonus film (not shown at the festival) due to its NC-17 rating. It was included in the DVD package that came out in March 2008. Series II of Eight Films to Die For, therefore, contains nine films. Buy the set on Amazon (without the bonus film) or eBay (where they are a LOT cheaper) or look for the films individually.
