Viewers who are anticipating the next (and last) Sopranos season will have to wait even longer than they thought. The series had been expected to start up again in January, but thanks to James Gandolfini’s knee surgery — and the even more daunting prospect of going up against the NFL playoffs — HBO decided to hold off.
No new air date yet, but it sounds like the series will pick up in early March, just in time for sweeps but too early to conflict with March Madness. Maybe it’s a good thing for HBO that the series is ending, as fans who might otherwise lose patience will have more reason to tune in.
