iZombie – Season 3 (TV sci-fi, Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin) – I’m still really enjoying this combination zombie/police procedural. I don’t know why. Instant Streaming Only for now and it has been renewed for a fourth season.

You Can’t Have It (thriller, Armand Assante, Joanna Krupa) – The closing of your favorite bar shouldn’t really involve a murder, should it? DVD Only

July 4th

A United Kingdom (drama, David Oyelowo, Rosamund Pike) – 1940s period piece about the romance between an African prince and English office worker.  DVD Only

A Cure for Wellness (thriller, Dane DeHaan, Jason Isaacs) – That wellness spa is not what it promises.  My daughter says this is terrible,  I don’t know if anyone should trust that.  DVD Only

All Nighter (comedy,  J.K. Simmons, Emile Hirsch) – Love both leads, so I’ll take a chance on this comedy about a dad and boyfriend looking for a missing young woman.  DVD Only

CHiPS (comedy, Michael Peña, Dax Shepard) – I’m not sure if I should be horrified or delighted that this exists.  I should probably see it to find out.  DVD Only

Drone (thriller, Sean Bean, Patrick Sabongui) – Seriously, when are these people going to figure out that you can’t retire from the CIA in the movies??  DVD Only

The Zookeeper’s Wife (drama, Jessica Chastain, Daniel Brühl) – Polish zoo workers join the resistence during WWII.  DVD Only

Song to Song (drama, Michael Fassbender, Ryan Gosling) – Directed by Terrence Malick, the story of love triangle in Austin, TX.  Also with Rooney Mara, Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett.  DVD Only

Vincent N Roxxy (thriller, Emile Hirsch, Zoë Kravitz) – More Emile Hirsch!  This time with Zoe Kravitz, who is also awesome.  I’ll check out this thriller about a couple who can’t seem to escape violence.  DVD Only

King Arthur: Excalibur Rising (action, Simon Armstrong) – Illegitimate son Owain takes the forefront in this Arthurian tale.  DVD Only

July 1st

The Originals – Season 4 (TV sci-fi, Joseph Morgan, Daniel Gillies) – This Vampire Diaries spin-off has been renewed for a fifth season.  Instant Streaming only for now.

Witnesses – Season 2 (foreign TV drama, Thierry Lhermitte, Marie Dompnier) – French language crime drama.  Instant Streaming Only

Deep Water – Season 1 (TV crime drama, Noah Taylor, Yael Stone) – Australian show about the possible serial murder of gay men. I believe this is a 4 part mini-series, so no further seasons are likely. Instant Streaming Available

Offspring – Season 6 (TV dramedy, Asher Keddie, Kat Stewart) – Australian show about an obstetrician and her hectic life.  Instant Streaming Only

Gypsy – Season 1 (thriller, Naomi Watts, Billy Crudup) – A therapist gets far too close to her patients’ lives. This looks awesome, I will certainly binge it. Instant Streaming Only

It’s Only the End of the World (foreign drama, Nathalie Baye, Vincent Cassel) – French language story of an ill man visiting his estranged family of origin. Instant Streaming Only

Okja (action, Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal) – A little girl faces losing her gentle animal friend to a greedy corporation. This looks really cute. Instant Streaming Only

A Tale of Love and Darkness (foreign drama, Natalie Portman, Gilad Kahana) – Hebrew language post WWII period piece about the life of author Amos Oz. Instant Streaming Available

Sophie and the Rising Sun (drama, Julianne Nicholson, Margo Martindale) – 1940s period piece set in North Carolina, where a Japanese-American man is new to a small town, creating tension. Instant Streaming Available

Tower (animated documentary) – Animated look at the 1966 clock tower shooting in Texas.  Instant Streaming Available

Being 17 (foreign drama, Sandrine Kiberlain, Kacey Mottet Klein) – French language about high school enemies forced to share a household. Instant Streaming Available

The Eyes of My Mother (horror, Kika Magalhães, Will Brill) – Memories from childhood lead to violent adulthood. In black and white without much dialogue. Instant Streaming Available

The Matchbreaker (romantic comedy, Wesley Elder, Christina Grimmie) – Guy hired by desperate parents to break up their daughters’ romances. Instant Streaming Available

100 Streets (drama, Idris Elba, Gemma Arterton) – London stories connect in the same one square mile. I love Idris Elba, I’ll check this one out. Instant Streaming Available

Prison Break – Season 1 (TV drama, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell) – A continuation of the series – I have no idea how many seasons they plan or whether it will stream.  DVD Only for now.

Before I Fall (drama, Zoey Deutch, Halston Sage) – Sort of a Groundhog Day, but a teenager’s last day alive – she gets to relive it until she figures out what happens to her.  DVD Only

Collide (action, Nicholas Hoult, Felicity Jones) – American backpackers, don’t become cartel drivers.  Just don’t do it.  DVD Only

T2: Trainspotting (drama, Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner) – Danny Boyle brings his characters back 20 years later to see if they’re still heroin addicted crazy people.  DVD Only

Power Rangers (action, Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott) – I can’t believe I’m admitting this, but the commercials for this looked sort of cool.  Go ahead, you can judge me.  DVD Only.

Dirty Dancing (TV Musical, Abigail Breslin, Colt Prattes) – I can’t even.  Nobody puts Baby in a remake.  DVD Only

Berlin Syndrome (thriller, Teresa Palmer, Max Riemelt) – One night stand leads to bad things.  Worse than the walk of shame.  DVD Only

The Stanford Prison Experiment (drama, Tye Sheridan, Olivia Thirlby) – True story of subjects assigned to be prison guards or prisoners devolving into violence when the “guards” began to abuse their authority.  Instant Streaming Available.

Shooter – Season 1 (TV action, Ryan Phillippe, Omar Epps) – Ex-sniper called back to action.  Based on the book.  Instant Streaming June 18th.  There is a season 2 coming.

The Young Pope – Season 1 (TV drama, Jude Law, Diane Keaton) – YESSSSSS!  I’ve been waiting for this HBO series to come out.  DVD Only, and will probably stay that way.  There is a second season planned.  Seriously Netflix?  This is now listed as Unknown, but is at the top of my queue.  I’ll let you know when/if I actually get it.

Power – Season 3 (TV drama, Omari Hardwick, Lela Loren) – Drug dealer struggles to go legit.  This one isn’t a streamer, so DVD Only

Suits – Season 6 (TV drama, Gabriel Macht, Patrick J. Adams) – Finally! This courtroon drama does not stream in the US, so this release will be DVD Only here. If it streams in your country, let me know when it shows up! It has been renewed for a seventh season.  Kind reader James tells me that season 5 is now streaming in Ireland!  And that season 6 looks to be coming in May.  Thanks James!

The Code – Season 2 (TV mystery, Dan Spielman, Ashley Zukerman) – Crash in the Australian outback leads to conspiracy revelations. This looks pretty good, I might have to check it out. DVD Only for now, but it’s a streamer. I’ll let you know when it comes out.

Snowden (drama, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley) – I’m sick of hearing the name Snowden, but my love for JGL is more powerful than my weariness. This goes on the queue. DVD Only
