There Be Dragons Clips

Still confused?  Let me help you with that.

Wes Bentley

A while back I wrote about There Be Dragons, which opens May 6th.  At the time, I was so very confused by the plot description.  Is it present?  Is it past? Is it a combination and who the hell is the main character?  It’s hard to tell from the official synopsis.  But as I watch trailers and clips it’s becoming more clear.

Charlie Cox

While the story is framed by a son (Dougray Scott) looking into the shadowy past of his father and the founding of Opus Dei, the real story is about the two vastly different roads taken by two young men during the Spanish Civil War.  Friends as very young men, the two find themselves at odds as the war begins.  Whose road is the right one?  And how will history see their actions?  Starring Wes Bentley as a rebel and Charlie Cox as a priest, the epic is directed by Roland Joffe of Killing Fields fame.

Samuel Goldman Films has released two more clips, giving us a better glimpse at the setting and tone of the film – wartime intrigue to be sure, with action and secrets and regrets waiting to be discovered by the next generation.  I trust Joffe with historical material, I’m looking forward to the movie.

Let’s take a look at the new clips.
