Ghostbusters

Don’t Cross The Streams!

Main Cast: Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Sigourney Weaver

Director: Ivan Reitman

This humorous romp through a ghostly infestation of New York City bursts with creative energy, led by the optimistic goofiness of Dan Ackroyd and the deadpan humor of Bill Murray.

Three struggling scientists (Murray, Aykroyd, Ramis) are unceremoniously tossed from their cushy positions at a big university and must find a way to survive. They run with the radical idea of purging ghosts from various places, something they tried (and failed) to do at the beginning of the film. Business is slow at the start but quickly ramps up as restless spirits begin to emerge. At the epicenter of the hauntings is the apartment of (Weaver), their first client and potential love interest for Murray’s character (although she did compare him to a game show host).

What happens next is the potential destruction of the city, if the Ghostbusters are not called in to save the day. I wouldn’t dare spill the climax, but they do end up fighting one of the most absurd monsters in movie history!

This is a fantastic comedy, filled with perfect dialogue and strong performances. This is a definite must see for anyone.
